It’s
a Catch-22 for non-profit organizations: the need to find new,
inventive ways to communicate their programs, yet the lack of
in-house staff or funds to pay for the public relations counsel
to help make it happen. So SCPRSA is stepping in to offer its
“ PR Powerlunch.”
The
concept is simple: non-profits in need of public relations assistance
simply apply for a Powerlunch. In turn, SC PR SA offers the expertise
of senior-level public relations professionals who, over the course
of a working lunch, provide free counsel about how to publicize
and market a particular project or issue decided on by the non-profit
and its governing board.
In
return for the free counsel, the participating organization is
responsible for providing the meeting space and lunch. Non-profit
organizations interested in participating in PR Powerlunch can

Here's
what non-profits are saying about PR Powerlunches:
"We
had a great experience with the Powerlunch! Since we have never
had a public relations plan or anyone on staff to implement one,
we really had to start from the beginning. Our group of professionals
helped us decide what to put in our PR Packet, informed us on
how to contact the media, and how to better publicize our special
events. It was a much-needed service that we could have never
afforded as a non-profit. Since then, we have started working
on all of their suggestions and have already begun to see great
results. We hope you don't get overwhelmed because we've been
suggesting this program to all of our other friends at non-profits!
Please, let our group know how much we appreciated their help."

"Humanities
Foundation really appreciated the help and expertise of the PR
Power lunch professionals. We were left with many ideas and options
to work with on our strategic planning for the Humanities Center."
