Media Relations Specialist

Select Health of South Carolina, one of the state’s largest Medicaid managed care organizations, is looking for a media relations specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for all media relations functions pertaining to Select Health.  The media relations specialist will develop the company’s media relations strategy, establish relationships with key journalists around the state,  pitch stories around business and community initiatives, write press releases and manage the company’s online newsroom. On occasion, the media relations specialist will be responsible for special event planning.  

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years substantial media relations experience with a proven track record of garnering media placements. We’re looking for an outgoing, highly-motivated self-starter with strong news judgment and excellent written and oral communication skills who can hit the ground running.   

Position Qualifications: 

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Mass Communications or equivalent business-related experience.

 Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience handling media relations.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience planning special events.

PR Account Director

  • Knows how to develop and manage smart, strategic, measurable work. Knows how to build strong client relationships. Media Relations Coordinator

Manager of Social Media and Online Reputation

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all things social media at Rawle Murdy: Marketing, Communications, Customer Experience and Community.Ensure consistency in voice and messaging throughout the social media space for firm clients, working with PR Account Directors and other internal teams on strategy, execution and integration into ongoing marketing efforts.Plan social media marketing campaigns, including requirements definition, scope, deliverables, schedules, and budgets.Manage campaigns in a hands-on, on-going fashion. Duties include online advocacy, creation and execution of new concepts, copy/editorial, community-building efforts, promotions, etc.Oversee presence in social / professional networking including Facebook, Twitter, and other similar community sites, blogs, and apps as needed.Research existing and emerging social / professional networking sites, blogs, and apps for new ways to reach and engage in conversation with our clients' target audiences.Use best practices to build a robust community following within various social media sites
  • Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.

 

Requirements:

Communication Specialist

SCANA Corporation is looking for a full-time Communication Specialist in their Corporate Communications Department based at their headquarters in Cayce, SC.  This position will help drive employee communication strategy using proven tools and processes established by the department. Position will facilitate corporate and business unit communication projects including plan development and implementation. Various communication channels and tactics will be used including, print, face to face, web and video

Educational requirements include at least a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism or related area. Candidates must have at least five years of professional communications experience. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are a must. Must have demonstrated writing and editing skills for print, web and video. Human resources communications experience is a plus.

Additional knowledge, skills and abilities include: excellent customer service and client consulting skills, good proofreading skills, strong organizational, planning and project management skills, ability to consistently meet deadlines, attention to detail, self starter and proficiency in MS Office applications.
