The written exam is a challenging 150-question multiple choice computerized test administered at Prometric test centers nationwide. You can take the exam at a local test center in Charleston , Columbia and Greenville at a time scheduled by you, after you pass the Readiness Review.

 

Study sessions will be offered by SCPRSA after candidates have completed and passed the Readiness Review. Contact your SCPRSA Accreditation Committee member for more details.

 

The written exam takes about three hours to complete. It is highly recommended that candidates “cross study” for the Written Exam and the Readiness Review. All topics are applicable for both parts of this testing process.

 

Exam questions will be broken into the following categories:

 

 

* History/Current Issues - 2%

* Business Literacy - 10%

* Ethics/Law - 15%

* Communication Models/Theories - 15%

* Researching, Planning, Implementing & Evaluating Programs - 30%

* Management Skills and Issues - 10%

* Crisis Communication Management - 10%

* Using Information Technology Efficiently - 2%

* Media Relations - 5%

* Advanced Communication Skills - 1%
