Unlike
the old oral exam which was offered twice per year, the Readiness
Review is offered at the convenience of the candidate's schedule
and can be offered multiple times throughout the year. APR candidates
should contact their
SCPRSA Accreditation Committee member to schedule the Readiness
Review.
During
the Readiness Review, candidates will be interviewed by accredited
members of our chapter to determine whether they are qualified
and prepared to sit for the examination itself.
Candidates
also will be given the opportunity to present examples of their
public relations work (see Portfolio Preparation Instructions)
or to cite their role in public relations projects.
This
is a pass/fail process and if the local review team does not feel
the candidate is ready to take the examination, the candidate
will not be allowed to proceed. Once a candidate passes the Review,
he or she has up to one year to take the Written Exam.
Candidates
must submit a Readiness Review Candidate's Written Submission
Form. Four printed copies of typewritten responses to the questions
on this form must be submitted to a candidate's Committee Representative
no fewer than 15 business days prior to the scheduled Readiness
Review.
It
is highly recommended that candidates "cross study" for the Written
Exam and the Readiness Review. All topics are applicable for both
parts of this testing process. See the Written Exam for a list
of study topics.
